:: La Remede / Street Album Vol. 1

Is it time for the Saïan Supa Crew to move over? That's the question which popped up when one heard Le Remede would drop a full length album, after the release of this Streetalbum. By appearing on several albums like Rohff's "La fierté des nôtres" the group had some music fans looking out for their own releases because of the mind-boggling beat boxing the duo presented.

The album opens with another imitation of well known beats and voices by the duo, even throwing in a little Rohff and the obligatory Snoop and Busta. Most tracks feature very little beat boxing, instead putting a focus on rhyming and beats, with the beats often being really good. The Funkateer & Senn Pacific produced "Nouvelle Epoque" for example puts the duo of Eklips and Sofiane over a tight Synth laced backdrop.

Funkateer once again impresses with "Chacun Son Heure", which he produced with Nico, a great mix of influences, with great rhymes by the Remede duo. Other productions seem to suffer from a lack of originality, as some of the beats sound outdated or too much like other existing American productions.

Le Remede meanwhile sometimes fail to really distinguish as MC's, with notable exceptions being the afore mentioned tracks and the beat box laced "Human Beat Box" where the duo revive a Mobb Deep beat and lace it with tight rhymes. As mentioned earlier the group suffers from lapses on some tracks while picking it up and really impress on others like "On Fait Monter Le Buz" where they're helped out by Psy 4's Soprano.

“G-Unit” meanwhile has the two rappers imitating some of the bigger American artists like Snoop and Xzibit in between their own verses, which is actually very funny, as is the “J’T’Emmerde” interlude which is very life like.Evidently the group might have a hard time distinguishing themselves as purely MC's, although the MCing combined with beat boxing should differ enough from other to really drop a quality album.

So, is it really time for the Saïan Supa Crew to move over? Not really, Le Remede have a very own style when it comes to beat boxing but when it comes to a full length album ór rapping they're not on Saïan leven quite yet. They do however have some time to find their niche until their album drops, and either way, evidenced by some tracks on this streetalbum, people should be looking forward to that moment.
