On the very first IV My People project since Shen's retirement as a recording solo artist, the opening track introduces a comeback of the IV My People unit with Serum, Jeff le Nerf (the latest Iv My People signee) and Shen leading the charge.
The usual suspects are once again among the ranks, with only Toy missing, who's currently putting the finishing touches to her 2006 solo debut on IV My People records. Both Salif's "A La Muerte", "Fugazi 2005" and Grenoble product Jeff Le Nerf's "Urgence" and "Le préau te parle" featuring Sinik should get IV My People fanatics and casual fans alike amped up for their solo releases.
Nysay and Serum's peformances are not less impressive, with especially "J'aime" which also features Shen and guest Lord Kossity. The synth heavy production has the MC's ripping into the banger with Lord Kossity providing a catchy hook like we've copme to expect from him over the years.
Kool Shen proves he's still on top of the game with his tracks "Enfant du 9.3" and "Paris-Cuba" with Orisha's Roldan and Salif, altough the true jewel has to be the Oxmo-assisted "Un flingue et des roses".
Other titles like Salif & Supa Lexx's "Mon Style" and Salif, Le Nerf and Shen's "On vit nos rimes" show the growing maturity among the IV My People ranks, and the high standard Kool Shen holds for the releases.
IV My People marks probably the best group album by the label to date and should become the most critically acclaimed album so far.
