Rim-K, AP and Mokobe try to raise the temprature with their third release and first group album in almost four years. While it took a while untill the album was released, it couldn't have came out at a better moment. The album is filled with tracks touching on current issues and social concepts.
The winners of two prices during the 20th "Victoires de la Musique", a highly respected music gala in France, in the categories revelation of the year and Rap, R&B or Reggae album of the year. The members of the huge Mafia K-1 Fry collective tried their hands on several solo tracks, even resulting in Rim-K's critically acclaimed solo album, on which many first discovered his producing talents.
The album relies, somewhat like Rim-K's album, more on synths than any 113 album before, on which DJ Medhi handled most of the productions. On this albumn most titles were produced by Rim-K & Mooch, Demon One, with a couple of beats by Frenesik. Other credits include Squadra Azura, Molaré, Frenchie, Therapy, Soul Supreme, Gang Du Lyonnais and even The Alchemist on the Mobb Deep assisted "L'école du crime" (School of Crime). For the latter 113 traveled all the way to Amsterdam (The Netherlands) to hook up at a show Mobb Deep did there earlier in 2005.
DJ Mehdi steps in with his signature production on "Tapis rouge" and with some very Medhi unlike production on "Vitry nocturne" featuring the best Vitry has to offer. Some beats tear out of the speakers like cannonballs, from the punk-turbo-charged synths inspired by Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' of "Un truc en moi", magnifying and distilling the rage of the 15 year old rock classic into a single impassioned roar to the Demon-produced and Booba & Le Rat Luciano assisted banger "On sait l'faire".
Mokobe, AP and Rim-K chose to touch on social and political subjects once again, witnessed by the lyrics on tracks like"Peu de moyen" and "Un jour de paix" with Sniper's Black Renegad and on which the trio + one talks about the live in the Banlieues of Paris without sounding preachy:
"Si la paix pouvait embrasser ce monde juste un jour,
Une trêve, une pause pour que l’on sache après quoi on court.
Sait-on encore c’que signifie l’amour ?
J’ai bien peur que non, Dieux nous le montrent tous les jours…
La planète tourne à l’envers, ça m’fait peur,
Voyez vous les flammes de l’enfer frères et sœurs.
Ne lui vendez pas vos âmes."
With tracks like "Trop puissant" the afore mentioned "Tapis rouge" and "On sait l'faire", among others, 113 stays more than steaming hot at 113 degrés and should help us get through any weather this year's end.
